The day finally arrives! I am officially 30 years old today. How do I feel? Hmmm...I may not have all the things n money that i wanted yet, nor do I own my dream car n home, but I am enjoying every bit of my life as it is n grateful for the all the wonderful things n also not so wonderful things that have happened in my life. I thank God for the wonderful people in my life esp my 3 precious bundles of joy, hubby n parents.
Lots have been said by others about the meaning of life. For me, life isn't a life unless u treasure it and make the most that u can for it with the people who r dear to you.
Happy birthday Azura!

10 Things I Missed About Jakarta
Today (10 Dec'07) marks the sixth month we r back from Jakarta and i can't quite get over it yet. Here r the top 10 things i missed about Jakarta:
10) Smiling faces-mostly everywhere! Honestly, i really think the people in Jakarta r more humane. They were so polite n humble.
9) My supirs-well, the school's supirs@drivers actually. There r really a bunch of good men, helpful n humble.
8) Browsing the utusan.com.my. Now that i'm here in kl, i dont really do it that much since i can read other papers.
7) Cheap fast food & fine dining. We spent only RM 10 at pizza hut for 2 adults n 2 kids. In kl we had to spent RM 40 for the same set. Not to mention my fav Japanese food, Gokana. On another acc, i'm tremendously elated when J.Co has finally arrives in KL. Hip hip J.Co! Hip hip J.Co!
6) Latest DVD -pirated of course!! At only RM2.50 per disc, i can collect my all time fav tv series-friends, heroes, ugly betty, desperate housewifes, etc n movies-u name it, they got it!
5) The Gerobak-push cart sellers in my housing areas n around Jakarta. They've got some really nice local delicacies to offer.
4) Events! Events!-The Indonesians r really all out when it come to events, be it the launch of a new product or launching the sales of apartments. They r superb n most of the time equipped with their hot local artiste.
3) The Safari at Punchak, Bogor- my kids n i really love it n enjoyed our time there.
2) Local gossip programmes-well, actually i think my hubby missed it more than i do. They have got like our local Melodi everyday -different entertainment slots for every channel. Imagine having 10 different E! channel alike at 10 different local free-to-air tv channels!
1) This is actually the one thing that i missed the most-Shopping!!! What else should i say, Jakarta really is the shoppers' heaven on earth! My ever so favourite shopping mall, the great Mall Ambassador in Kuningan. Filled with everything that i wanted to get hold on but never really quite did..things there r extremely fabulous n elaborate n quite cheap too.
Well...life goes on. Till we meet again Jakarta :)

Negaraku
Negaraku
Tanah tumpahnya darahku
Rakyat hidup
Bersatu dan maju
Rahmat bahgia
Tuhan kurniakan
Raja kita
Selamat bertahta (2x)
After almost 5 mths reigning the title vip & srt (very important penganggur & surirumah tangga...hehhee) i'm back in the workforce. 1st nov was my first day at Cempaka International School & on the 2nd day, we had a testimonial day where at the end of it, everyone got up to sing the national anthem. Honestly, i can't remember when was the last time i sang it (or whether or not the lyrics above is 100% error free). After 2 years of listening & singing Indonesia Raya ( which is a melodious n beautiful patriotic song-hmmm....no wonder most of indonesian songs made the list) i was amazed of the true meaning of being a Malaysian.
I, Azura, am truly happy n proud to be called a Malaysian and wish other Malaysian out there to feel the same too.
Malaysia - truly Asia

Welcome Aidil!
I've been back in kl since june 10 after 2 years of beautiful and challenging experience in Jakarta.
For the past 5 mths, i am enjoying myself as the goddess and diva for my two bundles of joy, Iryna & Ariel. They sure enjoyed having me around 24 hrs a day as i was waiting for the arrival of the new addition to the family, a chubby baby boy whom we named Khairyl Aidil Danish. Aidil was born on 29 sept 2007 and we picked the name Aidil in view of the then upcoming Aidilfitri.
My hope and prayers for my three angels are for them to grow healthy & brainy and may they always respect, love and cherish their parents, grandparents and each other. (though iryn's & ariel's favourite past time is to bully each other every five minutes & to drive mommy crazy).
Aidil's Personal Data
Name: Khairyl Aidil Danish bin Khairul Nizam
DOB: 29 Sept 2007, 17 Ramadhan 1428H
Weight at birth: 3.27kg
Length at birth: 55cm
Aidil at 1 day old

Counting d days
It's 8 more working days...n 13 days to go before i'll be in KL again...it's been almost a year since i've left..can't wait to get home..really missed those scrumptuous chilly spare rib from victoria station n laksam from kelana jaya..arrrgggghh..
My parents (n fara n busu) r flying in tonite from kl to spend their 2 weeks here in jakarta..i have got tonnes of shoppings to do..that's the thing in this city..u can't get enough of the shopping..
I'm in my 23rd weeks of pregnancy, really hope to find out the gender of my baby on my next visit to my OB this week. It's really tough to shop 4 ur baby without knowing its gender..the baby is really an active one, colleagues kept predicting it's a boy!
We went for Iryna's pre-school performance last Saturday, i was truly amazed of her! well, i tried hard not to show it (esp to other parents as i felt that their kids' performance were just so-so) but my Iryna was totally awesome..i think her dad was the proudest of all..hehee..
well, really hope great things will await us in Malaysia... as 4 now, i really can't wait to be back!

On & Off
After spending long weekend stucked at home, I walked in at the school lobby, clocking in at 8.55 a.m., two hours later than we were allowed to. Rain has stopped pouring this city but it is very likely to return soon. Water level outsite my 'kompleks perumahan' is still stagnant at knee-high.
Banjir or flood in Jakarta started at the wee hours of Friday morning, 2nd Feb after continuous raining few nights earlier. Later that day, water has started coming into my housing area and soon our roads became rivers. At night, it looked like our house was built on water:-like those water-villas in PD-(what was the name of that resort, huh?Avillion?) Only that we can't get out of our own house, stucked with no electricity and water!
By Saturday, we were literally almost out of food supplies and water to drink- and worse- money! We had to borrow money from our maids (who just received their salary from us) and our neighbours' maids to buy some food and formula milk for our kids.
On Sunday morning, we woke up, surprisingly to discover that the rivers outside our home has disappeared. We finally managed to get out of our area and shop for food supplies at Carrefour.
The rivers came back on Tuesday and disappeared again this morning. Sounds funny,eh? We are still waiting to resume our life as usual as this flood will come and go for at least another week. I longed to be able to jog around our kompleks with my daughter besides me, cycling her Winnie the Pooh bicycle. And it felt like months since I last strolled in my fav shopping malls doing what most ladies n mommies like me do best-shopping!

Bandung
One more and we're outnumbered!
I am happily married with 2 kids, Irene (turning 4 soon) and Ariel (just turned 1).
Satisfied with a pair of adorable (and whining) kids, I warned my hubby that I will no longer go through the process of having another baby.
Well, all that crap is a history now! I've noticed that I'm late n so we bought the self-kit and ta-da!
It looks like we can no longer call Ariel "adik", so I'm planning to have everyone call him "abang cik" (still deciding). When I told Irene a.k.a "kakak" about the good news, she was a bit puzzled, though excited at the same time. She insisted the baby to be a girl, as she already has a brother and has been tapping my tummy and saying 'helo' and 'how r u? ever since.
We decided not to tell the public yet (hehe..as in family n friends n bosses)..so this is actually the first time I've ever told anyone (after my hubby n kids), only it's actually in writing and non-verbally.

A New Beginning
Hi and welcome to my first ever posting. I couldn't really come out with any title so I typed 'A New Beginning'. After all this is a new begining for me. I've stopped writing a journal God knows how long ago, and it's been a while since I've been really jotting down my thoughts. So here it's goes.
I'm currently residing in Jakarta, and been here since July 2005. I can't help to find that this place isn't anything like what I've heard in my homeland, Malaysia. Well, we Malaysian know well that the media in our country can be inaccurate and exaggerated at times.
We (me, hubby & my 2 adorable kids) haven't really decided how long we are staying here, although I do have plans to leave soon. But while we're still here, I'd like to indulge in what this country has to offer and will share as much as I could to all.
C ya soon!
